Biologic treatments to enhance and augment the healing and strength of Rotator Cuff repairs Are advancing. These treatments are termed “Bioinductive” because they are stimulating the biology of healing the tendon to its bone insertion. Rotium is a engineered bioinductive scaffold only 0.6mm thick that is composed of manufactured fibers made of 3 different substances. The 3 different substances and the configuration of the weave promote a healing environment At the bone tendon repair site that helps restore a more normal bone tendon interface. This type of healing is stronger than healing by fibrovascular scar which is only 1/5th of the original bone tendon interface strength.
